Agricultural Science Form 4
This course is alligned with the main objectives of the Caribbean Secondary Examination Council (CSEC) syallabus. The course is designed to address the food and agriculture sector in the caribbean; a region consisting of many Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The core structure of design to this course is to achieve food and nutrition security, adopt sustainable agricultural approches that are responsive to an uncertain physical and economic environment; contribute to economic diversification through tranformation of communities and improvement of livlihoods; and ensure that the human resource capacity available to the sector is adequate in quality and quantity.
The course would require you to complete at least 10 practical skills; 2 experimental investigations ( 1 crop; 1 Animal); 2 cost analyses (1 crop; 1 animal) as part of your SBA. SBA's make up 40% of the Final Mark.
The Final Examamination is worth 60% and includes Paper 1 and Paper 2.
If a student does submit SBA's, this is regarded as an automatic fail.
