Good morning Cardinals

Blessings to you and your entire family.  We have started the 2nd term and this comes to us with so many challenges.  Some are unable to attend school, some are stuck overseas, some are anxious to return and some are very excited to be out of house.  Whatever the challenge or feeling, we must forge ahead and look to each day with purpose.  The school's roster for January 2022 is attached below (just in case you have not seen it).

Forms 1 and 2 students - Your Practicals were emailed to you last week - PLEASE ensure that these subjects are now part of your study timetable.  Too many of you failed because of lack of submission of work.

Here are the Form 2 practicals for this term:

Form 3 students - please speak with your subject teachers to communicate any challenges.  If necessary, we can have your timetables amended to suit you better and to see you performing at your optimum.

Form 4 and 5 students - this is crunch time.  Those writing the January, 2022 CXC(CSEC) exams, please bring in notes from home indicating why you have been absent.

Form 5 students - please remain focused.  We realise that this month is very involved (some have CXC exams, some must complete SBAS which will require absenting yourself from school - please communicate through your parents with your teachers.

This term - 2nd Term is a very special one at our school for MANY reasons:

1.  It is SPORTS' term - so HOUSES, please get ready for competitions

2.  It is our ANNIVERSARY term - so every cardinal should be ready to celebrate our 48th anniversary.

3.  It is INDEPENDENCE term - so, in February, we join together to observe our country's independence anniversary.  

4.  It is also LENT term (so some of of us - Catholics - prepare to observe the Lenten season which starts with Ash Wednesday on 2nd March, 2022).  

5.  PREFECTING - It is also the time for Form 4s to start applying themselves more to be selected as 'acting prefects'.  So, Form 4 students - find out what the requirements and process are and register your interest.

6.  CELEBRATING GOOD PERFORMANCES - please join with me in congratulating Nyann Joseph who has emerged 3rd place in the SLDB's Adapt to Change School Competition.  Nyann will receive $5,000 towards her project.  Clap, Clap, Clap!

More celebrations this week - grand prize giving of last term's spelling Bee winner will be announced on Thursday morning.

All students were emailed but the email is for GIRLS alone - a really exciting activity which starts this Friday, 14th January, 2022
