English Literature Form 2
In Literature, we read stories, novels, dramas, Poetry and non-fiction. Personal connections, interpretations and responses to literature are made to show an understanding of a text. Vocabulary instruction and growth is also emphasized to aid in the comprehension of a text. This term, the novel being studied is ,"The Skin I'm In" by Sharon Flake as well as a poem entitled, "My Parents" by Stephen Spender.
Throughout this term, students will:
1. Read the text in its entirety.
2. Discuss themes, symbols and citing relevant examples
3. Provide objective summaries for each chapter of the text
4. Determine the meaning of words and phrases and connotations including figurative language.
5. Conduct research to establish context for the text being studied
6. Show an appreciation for Literature.

Welcome to Term 2!
This term, the text being studied is Shakespeares Plays.
This term, we will be exploring the wonderful expression that is Drama: Plays
Many of the notes we will be using in class will be found on the subject moodle page. As such you are expected to make notes in your subject notebooks as you do additional research.
As students of CCSS, you are expected to take charge of your learning. That means take the initiative and research the topics we are working on before class, read ahead outside of class time and come to class with questions, feedback to provide. Come prepared to teach your classmates something new. Be independent thinkers, creators, readers and innovators. Be a present and active participant in your classes.
Lastly you are expected to demonstrate improved responsibility in attending online all classes, participating in all activities and submission of assignments. Please communicate any challenges you encounter in a timely manner.
